I believe that yoga is a life skill, not an esoteric end in itself. I develop all my classes to help make the activities we do in our lives more comfortable and to help prevent injuries and pains that can arise from repetitive activities, whether we spend our days running, cycling, standing, or sitting at a desk.
Wednesdays, 10:45-11:45 a.m. at O2 Fitness, 1761 Bellamah Ave. NW, Suite A, Albuquerque, New Mexico 87104
This welcoming practice helps seniors build and maintain muscle tone, bone density, and balance with gentle standing poses. We also build core strength and stability and practice seated poses that increase seniors’ range of motion. We end with relaxation to relieve stress and fatigue and to help students sleep. This class includes extensive use of props and is appropriate for seniors and others who are looking for a therapeutic yoga practice to complement physical therapy or aid in recovery from an injury.
